I've been playing around with some photographs of smoke.
Getting good photographs of smoke was a bit of a challenge. I need to give this another try using a tripod.
I did have a lot of fun manipulating these images in Photoshop though...
Looking at photos of smoke is much like watching clouds. You start to see all sorts of odd images emerging.
Click on the links after each pic to see some of the variations.
I think I see a mystical rabbit in this.
I have more variations on this image up as a slide show.
This one ended up with some interesting textures.
More variations.
I like this alien dancer. ;)
Playing with smoke. Less dangerous than playing with fire. :)

Love love love the alien dancer!! Did you have to use a cigarette for that?
Zeb...send me some of the stuff you are smoking, I want to paint like you.
Beautiful....
I used a stick of incense for this batch of photos. :)
I WISH I could paint like that. ;)
If I could find a substance to smoke that would make that happen- I'd probably try it. LOL
These were all done digitally in Photoshop.
I love the Alien Dancer! Was just going to ask about the source of smoke when I read your response. Great work, Zeb!
I love those! The alien dancer is my fave too.
Less dangerous? Perhaps. Way more cool? Absolutely!
You rock! And, oh yeah, I sooo want to learn to do cool stuff like that in Photoshop too!
What a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration. What you've done is
stellar.
I highly recommend Jessica's photography class series. My photographs have improved so much since taking them.
